BODY PANELS OF THE COMBINE
Project goal
To improve the appearance of body panels of the combine harvester. Initial panels were developed with plain flat surfaces, which always became wavy in production. The solution is to design the panels with curved surfaces.

aesthetics
We created curved surfaces of the body, according to right and pretty reflections, which would accent the body’s form.
In addition, wheel arches have been reworked for better surface quality.

calculation
We carried out computer simulations to improve the construction of the panels.
The results of virtual tests were analyzed according to distribution of safety factors for yield strength, principal tensile stresses and strains.

engineering
The engineering included not only the creation of convex front surfaces, but also the improvement of the design of the panels in terms of rigidity and strength and manufacturability too.
The design of the panels reduces the amount of glue for connecting parts. Welding points are placed according to uniform order to improve the well-looking backside of the panels.
